Since I installed Visual Studio 2013 Update 2, running my SSL enabled web projects presented me with the following message:<\/p>\n<p><img src=\"http:\/\/blogs.msdn.com\/cfs-file.ashx\/__key\/communityserver-blogs-components-weblogfiles\/00-00-00-63-56-metablogapi\/5165.clip_5F00_image012_5F00_7BBD7D41.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But even when checking the &#8216;Don&#8217;t ask me again&#8217; button I was presented with the exact same message the next time I tried to debug.<\/p>\n<p>I decided to start up\u00a0my go-to tool in these situations; SysInternals ProcMon (http:\/\/technet.microsoft.com\/en-us\/sysinternals\/bb896645). To find out what was going wrong. I suspected Visual Studio had problems writing to the correct registry key or something like that. It turned out I was right:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/techblogmedia.blob.core.windows.net\/default\/2014\/05\/ProcMon.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-99 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/techblogmedia.blob.core.windows.net\/default\/2014\/05\/ProcMon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1079\" height=\"626\" srcset=\"https:\/\/techblogmedia.blob.core.windows.net\/default\/2014\/05\/ProcMon.png 1079w, https:\/\/techblogmedia.blob.core.windows.net\/default\/2014\/05\/ProcMon-300x174.png 300w, https:\/\/techblogmedia.blob.core.windows.net\/default\/2014\/05\/ProcMon-1024x594.png 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1079px) 100vw, 1079px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Is was just a question of adding this (HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftVisualStudio12.0WebProjectsHideTrustIISCertificatePrompt) value to the registry (DWORD) and setting it to 1 to make the message box disappear forever.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Disclaimer: If you don&#8217;t know how to handle registry changes you should probably read up on that kind of stuff (or let your sysadmin fix it for you).<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The title says it all.
