However, once Excel had started, he was presented with the following error:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/techblogmedia.blob.core.windows.net\/default\/2013\/03\/Analysis-Server-Error.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-24 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/techblogmedia.blob.core.windows.net\/default\/2013\/03\/Analysis-Server-Error.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"758\" height=\"532\" srcset=\"https:\/\/techblogmedia.blob.core.windows.net\/default\/2013\/03\/Analysis-Server-Error.png 758w, https:\/\/techblogmedia.blob.core.windows.net\/default\/2013\/03\/Analysis-Server-Error-300x211.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 758px) 100vw, 758px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>TF208056: An error occurred while the command was accessing the Analysis Services database Tfs_analysis on the server xxxxxx.<\/p>\n<p>This happens because my co-worker&#8217;s machine is located in another domain, and the server name was not a FQDN server name. To fix this, I had to change the TFS Reporting configuration and set the SQL Server property to the FQDN.<\/p>\n<p>First go to the TFS Administration console on your server:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/techblogmedia.blob.core.windows.net\/default\/2013\/03\/TFS-Administration-Console.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-22 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/techblogmedia.blob.core.windows.net\/default\/2013\/03\/TFS-Administration-Console.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"861\" height=\"545\" srcset=\"https:\/\/techblogmedia.blob.core.windows.net\/default\/2013\/03\/TFS-Administration-Console.png 861w, https:\/\/techblogmedia.blob.core.windows.net\/default\/2013\/03\/TFS-Administration-Console-300x190.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 861px) 100vw, 861px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Go to Reporting and then click the Edit button. You will be presented with a dialog stating that the jobs will be disabled. When you click Ok, the actual configuration screen appears:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/techblogmedia.blob.core.windows.net\/default\/2013\/03\/TFS-Reporting-Settings.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-23 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/techblogmedia.blob.core.windows.net\/default\/2013\/03\/TFS-Reporting-Settings.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"401\" height=\"523\" srcset=\"https:\/\/techblogmedia.blob.core.windows.net\/default\/2013\/03\/TFS-Reporting-Settings.png 401w, https:\/\/techblogmedia.blob.core.windows.net\/default\/2013\/03\/TFS-Reporting-Settings-230x300.png 230w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 401px) 100vw, 401px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Go to the Analysis Services tab and enter the FQDN of the SQL Server. You will have to enter the password for the data access account before you can hit the Ok button. After you hit Ok please\u00a0be patient because it might take a few minutes before the dialog will disappear.
